Public Forum on “Corporate Social Responsibility: From Rhetoric to Action”

Corporate social responsibility or CSR is the buzz word of the moment. Yet it means different things to different people. Is it just handing over a cheque to an orphanage or sponsoring an environmental project and getting media coverage? Does it only apply to major corporations? How does it relate to the government and non-profit sectors?

Chevening Alumni of Malaysia has assembled a top-rated panel to comprehensively address these issues. In addition, the panelists will highlight how organisations in Malaysia can embark on practical CSR-related activities which provide real benefits to the community and environment.

Programme:

Welcome Remarks by Mr Mark Pui, President, Chevening Alumni of Malaysia

Main Paper

  • Why We Do CSR – An Overview by Dato’ Saw Choo Boon, Chairman, Shell Malaysia

Panel Discussion

  • The Malaysian CSR Scenario – What’s It All About by Dr Geoffrey Williams, Managing Director, OWW Consulting

  • Advocating Corporate CSR Culture in Malaysia by Ms Jothimani Muniandy, Head of Research and External Affairs, Bursa Malaysia
