During the lead-up of to the "CSR Global Summit 2009", organized by Pinnacle Group in Singapore, a competitor was said to have warned speakers not to participate in the event. According to sources, the competitor in question, CSR Asia (Singapore) Pte Ltd, sent out emails which suggested that Pinnacle were not capable of organizing an event on corporate social responsibility. Furthermore, the emails also contained criticism of the CSR awards held during the event, currently a common convention during CSR events. Upon being contacted by Pinnacle Group's solicitors, CSR Asia uploaded a letter of apology to Pinnacle on their website. The letter, addressing in particular an email they sent to Dr Geoffrey Williams, of OWW Consulting. The CSR Global Summit, held from 13th-14th Jan 2009, featured talks, an awards dinner and workshops on corporate social responsibility, featuring speakers both from the corporate sector as well as consultants. |
