India's second largest passenger car manufacturer and largest exporter, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), recently announced its continued efforts to fulfill its commitment towards society through a new corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative in its factory located in Irrungattukottai, a location near Chennai.
Hyundia has its own social arm, Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), through which the new initiatives will be carried. HMIF intends to continue its blood donation drive in partnership with the Lions Club International. HMIF is funded by HMIL and it receives a sum of Rs 100 for every car sold by Hyundai Motor India Ltd to fund its social activities. HMIL also intends to carry on its commitment towards the society by donating forty used cars and seven engines to 45 educational institutions across Tamilnadu. The cars and engines will be used for practical training and for enhancing the quality of education. The education institutions comprise of government and private engineering colleges, Government polytechnics and government ITI’s.
