KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Holdings Bhd believes its commitment to corporate
social responsibility (CSR) will help it become a truly world-class
organisation, says group managing director/chief executive officer
Datuk Abdul Halim Harun. “We want to be known as a responsible company when doing business and not solely looking for profits. The implementation of CSR in the company really help us in pushing our business to the global world,” he said yesterday after the official launch of UMW CSR Report. Also present was group chairman Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin. Independently audited in January 2008 by leading certification body, Bureau Veritas, the report shows all the company’s CSR activities and initiative for the period from 2001 to part of 2007.
