The Mongolian Forum on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) was recently organized by the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the UNDP. Participants included representatives of Mongolia's business sector, civil society, academic community and NGOs, who discussed issues related to CSR initiatives undertaken by the Mongolian companies.
The forum, opened by deputy head of the MNCCI T.Yansanjav, and Shoko Noda, a vice resident representative of UNDP in Mongolia, involved large companies like Mobicom, Khan Bank, XacBank and the Oyu Tolgoi project, leaders in the Mongolian business sector with their CSR efforts.
It was reportd that the final portion of the forum had Ch.Nergui, a head of the planning and analysis department at the MNCCI, presenting measures taken by the MNCCI to advance CSR in Mongolia. Khan Bank, the forum's main, delivered a presentation entitled "Adequate implementation of CSR: Experience of Khan Bank". The bank has been developing an effective and adequate framework for implementing CSR activities.
