Malaysia: New Foundation To Administer CSR Fund Print E-mail

Yayasan 1MDB, or the 1MDB Foundation, has been set up to manage a RM100 million Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Fund, Bernama reports . The foundation, launched together with 1Malaysia Development Bhd’s (1MDB) recently, will soon announce key initiatives to help bridge socio-economic gaps, according to Najib.

Najib, who is also chairman of the foundation's board of trustees, was reported to have said that these key initiatives will help promote equal opportunity to education and quality of life for all Malaysians. The Prime Minister expressed hope that the efforts will contribute significantly to the strengthening of Malaysia's social cohesion over time.
