The Malaysian Securities Commission has shown the effectiveness of its regulatory process by requiring the restatement of accounts by Talam Corporation Berhad for failure to comply with Regulation 4 of the Securities Industry (Compliance with Approved Accounting Standards) Regulation 1999 (Regulations).
In a related move Bursa Malaysia announced that it would defer the scheduled suspension of the company pending the outcome of its appeal to the SC against the rejection of its proposed regularisation plans.
