LOVE and attention were showered in abundance for the children of Pusat Jagaan Kanak-Kanak Nur Salam and Lighthouse Children Welfare Home Association when a group of Maxis employees visited them during its charity Christmas initiative. The children from both homes gathered at the Nur Salam Safe Home for a day of fun and sharing with the Maxis volunteers.
After a round of introductions, the volunteers proceeded to decorate a seven-foot tall Christmas tree and decorate the home with Christmas ornaments. Entertainment came in the form of a couple of dances by the children of Nur Salam, while the children from Lighthouse sang Christmas carols. Nur Salam is a 24-hour activity centre and safehouse that aims to provide a safe, healthy and loving environment for all children under the age of 18, living or loitering, in and around the Chow Kit area. “Today’s activity was suggested by the employees. It’s somewhat spontaneous as it was initiated only two-and-a-half weeks ago,” said Maxis chief operating officer Jon Eddy Abdullah, who led the visit to Nur Salam and presented cheques to representatives of both homes. “It’s in line with “Our Children, Our Future” – Maxis’ umbrella programme for children. Employees were invited to come because we wanted them to go out and make a difference.” Read the full article. Source from The Star. |
