Dubai Customs has embarked on its corporate social responsibility programme by publishing the Client Service Charter in Braille and conducting sign language courses for employees. Director of Client Management Department at Dubai Customs, Mr. Mohammed Faraj, was reported to have said that the two initiatives are in line with Dubai Customs' CSR and its ongoing concern for all society members.

He was quoted as saying, "They also reinforce the communication ties between the department and the community as they help it provide the highest quality of services to everyone. Consequently, the Client Service Management at DC has cooperated with the Training and Assessment Center to organize ongoing workshops for employees from different sectors and divisions to teach them the basics of sign language."

The trained personnel will be able through the course to deal with many  hearing impaired clients heading to the UAE through Dubai International Airports and customs ports on a daily basis. As they are part society, Mr. Mohammed Faraj says that their special needs should be catered to, as they are as deserving of as good service as everyone else.
