Businesses in the UK have been reported to have hidden away "billions of dollars worth of valuable environmental and health-related
contributions", according to a study by the British Brands Group. According to the study, recognisable cases of corporate giving are just the tip of the CSR "iceberg". The study was reported to have stated that if systems were in place to account for all brands' CSR activities, businesses might be more keen to to begin new initiatives. Companies already spending money and resources on CSR would have their efforts reflected in their brand's value. These findings are said to be increasingly relevant, as businesses decide whether or not to engage in costly carbon reduction programmes. If they were able to display the value of their efforts to cut carbon dioxide emissions, more business would invest in environmental strategies. |
